{"id":2987,"date":"2014-07-21T17:24:09","date_gmt":"2014-07-21T16:24:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/?p=2987"},"modified":"2021-05-14T13:01:13","modified_gmt":"2021-05-14T18:01:13","slug":"teaching-meeting-and-encouraging","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/sr\/teaching-meeting-and-encouraging\/","title":{"rendered":"Teaching, meeting &#038; encouraging"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today in Prokuplje we started off reading and studying.\u00a0 Chuck walked around town before breakfast and saw the town waking up, going to work and moving about.\u00a0 He made it to the river where he saw some men fishing (not catching), it seems some things in life are universal!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2988\" src=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_0873-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0873\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Of course, if you know me, we went from here to our favorite place for coffee before we met at the church for prayer and praise.\u00a0 Along the way Caitlin took us to a currency exchange office that will pay you the same amount whether your bills are nice and crisp or a little rumpled.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_0878.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2990\" src=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_0878-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0878\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We had prayer, praise and worship before one group went to start children&#8217;s Bible study and we in the other group stayed to teach about disciples making disciples. It was great to sing &#8220;How Great is Our God&#8221;\u00a0 together, them in Serbian and us in English. I think Chris Tomlin himself would have liked to hear their rendition of it!\u00a0 It is so moving to sing and worship with the church here.\u00a0 I think every Roma person I have ever met is a gifted musician.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0563.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2996\" src=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0563-1024x514.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0563\" width=\"900\" height=\"451\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0523.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2997\" src=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/DSC_0523-1024x772.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0523\" width=\"900\" height=\"678\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>At the church, during discipleship training, LaJuana started off with The Command to Make Disciples and William came along after with The Heart of a Disciple Maker.\u00a0 They both spoke of personal experiences, negative and positive, to help explain the concepts.\u00a0 The rest of us have a big goal to meet when we teach&#8230;&#8230;they were able to elicit discussion.\u00a0 We want so much for the leaders here to feel open to us, to feel comfortable speaking and questioning us and to know we are\u00a0 encouragers and part of their family.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_0881.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2991\" src=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_0881-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0881\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After the morning sessions we went to have coffee before lunch.\u00a0 We walked through a really busy farmer&#8217;s market across from the church.\u00a0 I only saw a few items I didn&#8217;t readily recognize.\u00a0 The Serbs and Roma love peppers, cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelons and canteloupes, sounds good doesn&#8217;t it?\u00a0 William bought peaches and I bought nectarines, delish!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_0882.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2992\" src=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_0882-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0882\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_0885.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2993\" src=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_0885-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0885\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_0886.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-2994\" src=\"https:\/\/linkingpartners.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/07\/IMG_0886-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_0886\" width=\"900\" height=\"675\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After coffee and some lively discussion solving many of the world&#8217;s problems we had Serbian barbecue which is grilled chicken, sausages and pork chops and some really great soft cheese and bread that is incredible.
