Psalms 127:3 Evo nasledstva od Gospoda: deca, porod je dar od Njega. If you can’t read Serbian, that translates to: Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. Caps for Kids is one of the projects of Linking Partners Ministries.
We have two different ways we use knitted and crocheted hats and hand sewn blankets to reach out to Roma families in Serbia, and share the good new of Jesus Christ and His love. One way is the Baby Caps and Blankets project.
One group of ladies from all around the USA knit caps. Another group makes hand sewn flannel baby blankets. Then we wrap them together in a gift package with pretty ribbon and a tag that has Psalm 127:3 in Serbian. These are presented to the parents of newborn Roma babies in Serbia, and provide a welcome entry into the home, and a visible example of the love of God working through caring women in the USA and our ministry partners in Serbia.
The other Caps for Kids project is knitting caps for children and youth, which are passed out in villages all around Serbia. As the weather starts turning cool, our ministry partners travel to villages where we have work, and those we are visiting for the first time. They gather the children of the village, and the fun begins! Hats are placed on the heads of these beautiful children. The work of women in America warms the heads of Roma kids. And the prayers of those same women send blessings and God’s love in action.
On October 30, a team of women head to Serbia to reach out to the Roma women there. We will have gatherings for the women, and we will pass out caps kids and blanket and cap gifts to babies. Two large duffel bags full of hats, caps, and blankets are already filling the back of a team member’s car, ready to bless others in Serbia.
