The team arrived safe and sound in Belgrade at around 3:30 pm Saturday afternoon, Belgrade time. No one slept well on the various planes, but seeing our brothers here to meet us revived us all.
We made a quick stop to visit with Pastor Erman and catch up on ministry in that Roma church. Last Sunday, they baptized nine new believers. We plan to join them for ministry in Belgrade one day next week.
Next stop was the long, blessedly cool ride from Belgrade to Prokuplje. It was raining very lightly, and the temperature is cool and comfortable. We all caught a nap in the van, and arrived at Marijan and Slavica’s flat to find Rodja and Natasha and family also there waiting for us. We had wonderful, warm greetings, and a delicious meal.
Next we headed to the church. The young people had been meeting since 5:00 pm and it was 9:00 when we got there. They had been praying view private instagram without human verification and singing and having Bible study for four hours. The sound of their singing pouring out of the church when we walked up was the most beautiful sound on earth to me! We sang several songs together, prayed, and spoke a few words from our heart. Caitlin summed up everyone in the FBC Sherwod group’s feelings when she talked about how the faith and deep commitment to Christ that these precious ones exhibit, some in the face of immediate persecution by authority figures and family over their faith, is humbling and encouraging to us at the same time. Please be in prayer for them.
Oh church, I wish you could all see these incredible young people that we are privileged to be able to work with in Serbia. They are a credit to the Kingdom!
