Hello again! 🙂
On Saturday, we had our final children’s club in Arandjelovac and then in Mladenovac. There were more kids at both places! Apparently, word spreads that the clubs are fun, and so more children show up each day. It was such a blessing to get to know the children and the girls who help Dragan and Danijela. They are doing such a great work in their cities; they work tirelessly for Christ and they are a true example to us as to what it is we should be striving toward. After we finished the children’s club in Mladenovac (where we had a Bible story, singing, and Bible verse, and face painting), we packed back into the car and we continued on to Belgrade.
On Sunday, we rested and shopped around. It was good to have a day to rest; we were all tired and very much needed it. Sunday night, we attended their home church meeting in Danijel and Sabrina’s home. We sang with them and then Bethany and I shared our testimonies. I also shared some verses from the Bible (Philippians 3:7-13). When I was finished, Danijel told us that God had laid those same verses on his and his wife’s hearts that very same week. It’s amazing how God works us so that we are in tandem in His will.
Monday, we had a children’s club in the mahala where Danijel lives. Thirteen children attended and we played games, sang, had a Bible lesson, and then concluded with a craft. Sabrina then served us lunch, which was delicious! Even though they don’t have much, I am humbled by their willingness to serve. They have offered up their home and the little resources they have in order for us to be able to work with them. Please pray for them.We then left Belgrade and traveled to Obrenovac, where we held a second children’s club. We played games, sang, had a Bible lesson, and then finished with a craft. In all, about 25 children were there! On Tuesday, we concluded both children’s camps. Again we sang, played games, and had a Bible lesson. We concluded both children’s camps with face painting, which was very fun! All of the kids were excited to get their faces painted; we even learned a few new words as the children were telling us what they wanted. It was a good few days and we are a sad to be leaving Dragan and Danijela. They are such hard workers and wonderful people. Our time with them was such a blessing and we look forward to seeing them again later in our trip.
Thank you guys for all of your prayers while we have been here. Not everything has been easy so far, but we’ve felt your prayers and God has been with us the whole time. Today, we are in Budapest for a short rest and a little fun before we meet up with the rest of the team on the 19th. We are looking forward to all that God will do as we finish up our time here. Thank you again for your prayers, Caitlin.
