But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
The entire team is in Prokuplje! Bethany Jaques and Caitlin have returned from a couple of days in Budapest. William and Marabeth Jaques, Chuck and Janice Smith, Daniel and Bethany Oswalt, and Ed and LaJuana Oswalt arrived in Belgrade around 2 pm Saturday. And we certainly need our strength renewed! A good night of sleep should take care of that.
We are staying in three different flats in the town of Prokuplje. These are often rented out to high school students during the school year. The villages surrounding Prokuplje generally only have school through the 8th grade, so village children move into town to complete high school. The two pictures above, and the one below are from the flat where the Smiths and Oswalts are staying.
We dropped off our luggage, did the barest minimum of freshening up, then headed to Marijan and Slavica’s flat for dinner and a team meeting. What a joyful time of fellowship we had — laughing, catching up, praying, sharing, planning, laughing some more . . . all with that slightly silly “not enough sleep” feeling you get after a couple of days of constant travel!
The three amigos, together again in Serbia!
Pray for us — for good rest tonight, and then for the full week — teaching discipleship training from Francis Chan’s and David Platt’s Multiply material, holding a Children’s Club, visiting homes and villages, a baptism in the lake near Zitni Potok, and that plans work out for an evangelization in Pirot. Your prayers fuel our work!
