Hello people, here is a quick report about what we have done today. It was a long day and we ended with a great dinner, prepared by the beautiful Slavica, Bethany, and Caitlin. We are very tired, but we still want to share what happened on this busy day. Caitlin and Bethany prepared diplomas for the children of Zitni Potak. Afterwards, a young couple came to our flat and we prayed for them. We also went out to buy prizes for all of the children, then had lunch, and then at 3 pm we went for a visit in Jasenica.
We saw the green house first, where we were given a sample of the produce they are growing. It was so much, and we are thankful for their blessing. We taught the children a song and then we visited with Bojan and Vanja. Bethany shared a message with them and we prayed together. Bojan and Vanja expressed their thanks to God for meeting Bethany and Caitlin. They were very kind and generous.
After that visit we continued to Zitni Potak to finish the last day of the children’s club. We had a quiz, we sang, we prayed, and we had games. There were 72 children who came over the 4 days. They were very attentive and knew all of the answers to the quiz questions (about 1 Samuel 1-3), even though the story had been taught 3 days ago. We had watermelon as a treat and then presented them with diplomas and a small prize for being faithful in coming. Even after 4 days of Bible class, the children still asked what time we would be back. Since most of the Roma children do not have anything to do during the summer, this is a good opportunity for them to have fun and learn things still. At school in the fall, the children write about what they did during the summer, so this is also a good opportunity to give them something good to write about.
After the children’s club, we visited with Rade (who’s house we had the club at) and Goran, his father, along with the rest of their family.
In the morning, we will travel to Pirot (you will hopefully be asleep). Niki, one of the leaders in Prokuplje, organized the first meeting in Pirot by phone. Caitlin and Bethany will have an opportunity to be a part the beginning of the home church in that city. NIki has been working everyday, but he has decided to not go to work tomorrow so that he will be able to go with us to Pirot and be a part of the beginning of that home church as well. This is a big challenge for us and we are very excited about it. Please pray for us as we go there and that God will open a door there to save many people.
