We send you all greetings! Thank you for your prayers. Our travel to Pirot was exciting and interesting. Niki accompanied us in our travels and and we were all very excited to make it there. We went to the center when we arrived in Pirot and had lunch at a small restaurant there. After lunch, we had our first visit in Niki’s grandparent’s house. They live in a Roma community of 3,000 people. They were very welcoming and kind. This was the first time for them to meet Christians like us. Their neighbor, Rade (not the same Rade from Zitni Potok!) also joined us. Their neighbor, Rade, has been a Christian for 19 years.
After a short time of visiting, Caitlin and Bethany were given the opportunity to share who they were, what they were doing here in Serbia, and who they were with. The people were touched that they would come from America and share their hearts with them. Our fellowship continued with a song, led by Niki, and Marijan preaching the gospel.
Rade was very excited that we had come and he invited us into his home. We sang songs and he joined us with playing a drum. His whole family was so happy and told us that they could see something different in us. They told us that we were welcome in their home any time, and when we told them that Caitlin’s and Bethany’s families were coming, they said that they would love to see them also.
We then continued to another family’s home, where we spoke about our plans to form a new church in Pirot. They told us that it was very good for us to do this and that they would love to join us when we came the next time. They asked us to tell them when we came next so that they could make sure they came. We used this opportunity to share three Serbian New Testaments and four of the Jesus’s life books.
For our first time, this was very successful: we visited three homes and met many new people. We are sure that we will find a man of peace in Pirot and are very excited about this new opportunity that God opened for us. Thank you for your prayers.
We will get this blog working one way or another! Slow internet connections have made it difficult, but this time it’s a team effort. Marijan emailed the blog, Caitlin uploaded photographs to Dropbox, and LaJuana put it all together so you could keep up with what is happening in Serbia!
