Selenča — the village the Linking Partners’ team visited in July where a company that pumps out septic tanks has been emptying their trucks into an open pond just a few feet from the homes in this Roma community. Children walk barefooted ten feet from open sewage. No one cares, because it is a Roma community. We were moved to offer help, and others have been as well. Pastor Saša is working with the local municipalities and the village of Selenča to get the pond cleaned up and stop the dumping.
This month, he sends a report on how that is going. Please continue to pray for these people, and for all the red tape involved in righting a problem such as this. It is a complicated situation, but Saša is a hard-working, intelligent, and caring pastor, and he will continue, even though the path is difficult. Here is his report:
Blagoslov! (Blessings!)
After a hard October, and a lot of happenings, finally small break. We are thankful to God for having LaJuana and Jim visit us. Our helpers were at Kopaonik and learned a lot.
This month we had two persons baptized. Two persons turned their life path to Jesus.
In Selenča is really hard condition, not long ago we had guests who visited Selenča and brought food. One of the guests wanted to give us money to solve a decade trouble of that community, and finally we were all happy that we can solve it. I tried to contact major of that village, but unfortunately our talk had negative conclusions. We didn’t get confirmation to clean the trash area. I was angry and sad so much that I cried on my way back to my home in Kucura. The situation is really hard now, I go with fear in Selenča, but I believe the Lord will make everything good. It is a big blessing for us that Danijela decided that house church meetings in winter we can have at her house.
In Djurdjevo everything is the same. Dragan and Mirko goes as usual, in Ravno Selo too.
In Kucura we had meeting with leaders with dinner and we studied Acts, that Jim sent us. (This is the same study that the Barnabas Sunday school class is studying. God’s word is truly the same anywhere in the world!)
We were in visit and we brought help to Tovarisevo, there we have plan to start with work in future. Also we had a meeting in Kulpin and next month we open in that village new house church.
After all these activities we had a small family vacation which we appreciate lot, it means a lot to us. Thanks to Linking Partners for all the support you provide for us.
Blessings, Saša
